Description
The railroad depot was built in 1877 to serve the newly-laid tracks between Spartanburg, South Carolina and Asheville, North Carolina on what would become the Southern Railway.
Passenger service ended on this segment in 1973 or 74 and the depot was turned into a civic center for the town of Landrum. Freight service ended on this line beside the depot in 2001 when Norfolk Southern mothballed the famous Saluda Grade a few miles north of Landrum.
She underwent a major renovation in 2013.
