Description
Here sits the historic Lancaster County Court House as it looked in May, 20017. Designed by Robert Mills in 1928, who also designed the old jail a few blocks over as well as the Washington Monument, the court house now serves as a meeting center for the county it resides in.
It features fine reeded woodwork and vaulted ceilings. A series of double barrel brick vaults supports the second floor and forms the ceiling of the first.
This court house served in it's intended purpose until 2008 when an arsonist nearly destroyed the building. The building was saved, but a new curt hose was erected next door.
