Artist's Description
In October 2017, a friend I wandered around the old Belk building in Great Falls, South Carolina. I remember visiting another friend in Great Falls back in 1991 or 92 and he told me about the history of this building. It was boarded up and in disrepair then.
The bottom floor was the department store and the top floor was an old pool room. The building is located in downtown Great Falls directly across from City Hall. Before it was a Belk, it was the company store for nearby Republic cotton Mills.
