Artist's Description
Lancaster and Chester EMD SD40T-2 #6002 leads a train through Richburg, South Carolina after working two industries east of here. The crew will stop about a mile from here and pick up some cars off the main line to take to their Class 1 partners in Chester. The 6002 and the locomotive behind it are making teir return to the main line after some mechanical issues that kept them sidelined for a little while.
L&C #6002 was built in May, 1980 as Southern Pacific #8257. It became UP #8802 when Union Pacific took over the Espee. The unit was then sold to the Gulf & Ohio Railways who assigned it to the Yadkin Valley Railroad and renumbered it to 6002.
The second unit, L&C #9146 was built as Union Pacific GE C40-8 #9146 before being bought by G&O in recent years. It's a slug to the #6002 meaning it gets all of it's power from the SD40T-2 making this a unique power combination for the railroad.

Well captured. I like how the train gets smaller as you work your way from right to left. It forces you to really examine the whole picture. Nice touch!
