Hampton & Branchville GP9 #859 and sister units sit in Miley, South Carolina. These units are former Norfolk & Western motors built in the 1950s or 60s. A few years after this shot was made, the railroad lost it's final customer and shut down. The engines have been sold off and moved out of state presumably to be cut up for scrap or made into new gensets.
