Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

Former Waccamaw Coast Line GP18 #943 leads a passenger excursion out of Conway on the Carolina Southern in what was better times for the railroad. This unit has since been scrapped. The railroad is not doing much better after "voluntarily" shutting down after FRA inspectors found several bridges in dire straits several years ago. The #943 is a former Norfolk & Southern GP18. It was painted in Atlantic Coast Line inspired purple by the owner of the Waccamaw Coast Line who sold out to the current owners of the Carolina Southern back in 1995.

The Carolina Southern has been shut down since 2011 due to the FRA finding that some of their bridges were in bad shape. The owners, Ken Pippin and his son, Jason, tried to get trains rolling again, but found it hard to finance the needed improvements. A shortline holding company, R.J. Corman Railroad Group, has stepped in and bought the railroad. The deal is expected to close in August, 2015. This will in effect make the Carolina Southern a...
