Description
Norfolk Southern Railway train 155 passes St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Graniteville, South Carolina. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Graniteville was established and built in 1885, 40 years after Graniteville Mill was chartered. When industrial visionary William Gregg designed the village surrounding his mill, he set aside land for two churches. Within three years, St. John Methodist Church and First Baptist Church of Graniteville were built. As the mill grew, other churches – like this one – were founded to serve the textile workers and their families.
Notfolk Southern #8733 was a General Electric C40-8 built in 1992. It had a relatively short career on the railroad as it was scrapped in March, 2017.

Thanks for the comments, folks. Charles, I would guess tht at least on some Sunday mornings at least one train passes during service. They may have a slow order and not blow as much for crossings though.

Wow! That's neat the rail runs right alongside the road without much between! Great shot! v ~J

Be sure to check out my shots of this same train in Augusta when it runs down the middle of the street literally!
