Artist's Description
This was the last time I saw the L&C use this many end cab switchers on the same train. Soon after this photograph, I moved out of town and the railroad began selling off these engines for bigger power. This was also my last time seeing coal cars on this railroad. They stopped shipping coal when Springs Textile Mills shut down and moved overseas.
This train is on the former Southern Railway SB Line in Lancaster which the L&C bought in the early 2000s after leasing it for several years from Norfolk Southern Railway.
