In October 2005, the first train of the day prepares to load up and head out of Dillsboro, NC. The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad has painted this engine within the past two years or so into another paint scheme making this shot impossible to get now. If you judge based solely on comments around the web, the new paint scheme is not as popular as this one. The railroad operates a tourist line as well as some freight operations on former Southern Railway rails.
