Hinson is pleased to announce that the first three high resolutions photographs from the first day of operations of the Blue Ridge Southern Railway are available for purchase on his Fine Art America web site. Blue Ridge Southern Railroad (BLU), a subsidiary of Watco Transportation Services, bought the rail lines from Norfolk Southern Railway earlier this year. Rail service began on Saturday July 26, 2014.
“I was very happy to get up to Canton not only on their first day of operations, but to actually be there when the first train moved out of the yard,” Hinson said. “It’s not something that happens every day.”

Starting on Friday night, November 29 and going until Saturday December 7, I will have Lancaster Santa Train photographs for sale at a reduced price. These trains have been run by the Lancaster and Chester Railroad in conjunction with the See Lancaster group since 2006. One of the images for sale shows the first train pulling into the Heath Springs depot, the first time a passenger train stopped there since regular passenger service ended on what was then part of the Southern Railway system in the late 1940s.
